I would really like to see a FC mode. Something similar to the commander mode found in Battlefield 4. I don't know if you guys would get into some type of legal trouble by doing something similar but I think it would be cool. Not only for public contracts but especially for corporate contracts.
If you guys are planning on adding Planetary Conquest to Legion and maintain the 16v16 mode that it is now, you would just have to technically make it 17v17 with that extra spot for someone that is just focused on commanding his forces.
Some features I can think of right now are these
-Placing Squad orders for individual squads.
-Drop OBs
-Use all WP across squads for either OBs and other things as well. Ammo, Scans etc.
-Speak on Team Chat or Squad Chat for either entire team orders or small specific orders to squads.
-Pick up the passive scans on everyone on the team and have it relayed to his HUD.
-Other stuff I can't think of at the moment.
For public contracts you can have a vote in the WB(Please give us at least 1 minute in the thing) whether or not to activate FC mode for the entire team or if you're in an organized squad you can choose to keep your squads WP exclusively for OBs.
Now I know that ammo drops and scans may seem like they would render nanos and scans useless but there could be certain things in place that make the FC consider whether or not the scan is actually worth that WP that he is spending. For example, if a OB is worth 5000 then a scan could be worth 3500, or maybe even the same as a OB. I'm sure that anyone that's been in a PC before know that sometimes scans are worth more than an OB. That would be something that the FC would have to decide of course. The same could also be said for nano hives as well.
Another thing is setting squad orders down or maybe even individual orders for that one scout on your team that is able to get the job done. There are good and bad squad leads up there and sometimes it isn't necessarily that they are bad, sometimes the battle is so evenly matched and intense that a SL might forget to set them down or doesn't have time.
Visual representation of battle plan. How about letting this FC use that table in the middle of the WB. Since Legion is on PC , the FC could use his mouse to draw arrows, circles , or whatever to better relay the battle plan. Different people have different name for different structures. "drop me on the anvil, tower, arrow, etc" mean the same thing and sometimes people get it confused. Of course no one would be forced to gather around the table. The FC could draw it up and anyone that wants to see it they could walk up and activate it.
I'm sure there's more things I or others could think of for this mode. Also, my perspective on this is for the most competitive mode of the game. In regular pub matches it might be bad since there could be some trolling on FC's part....like wasting 5000 WP to drop an OB on a sniper in the redline -_-
I'm sure that those interested in FW would also love this mode.
